چکیده

Background We evaluated whether quantitative circumferential strain (C-strain) analysis using adenosine triphosphate (ATP)stress/rest 3-Tesla (3-T) tagged magnetic resonance (MR) can depict myocardial ischemia as contractile dysfunction on stress. We evaluated whether it can differentiate nonischemia, myocardial ischemia and infarction. We assessed its diagnostic performance in comparison with ATP-stress myocardial perfusion MR and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE)-MR.

Relationship between the extent of non-viable myocardium and regional left ventricular function in chronic ischemic heart disease.

PURPOSE To define the relationship between left ventricular (LV) regional contractile function and the extent of myocardial scar in patients with chronic ischemic heart disease and multi-vessel coronary artery disease. METHODS Twenty-three patients with chronic ischemic heart disease and 5 healthy volunteers underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In patients, the relative area (Percent S...

Subendocardial contractile impairment in chronic ischemic myocardium: assessment by strain analysis of 3T tagged CMR

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to quantify myocardial strain on the subendocardial and epicardial layers of the left ventricle (LV) using tagged cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) and to investigate the transmural degree of contractile impairment in the chronic ischemic myocardium. METHODS 3T tagged CMR was performed at rest in 12 patients with severe coronary artery disease wh...

Magnetic resonance imaging of post-systolic shortening in a closed-chest rat model of coronary occlusion using myocardial tagging

The aim of the study was to evaluate the reliability and sensitivity of tagged cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (cMRI) in assessment of regional cardiac dysfunction induced by short ischemia. For clinical low dose dobutamine tests, quantitative strain analyses derived from tagged cMRI have been shown to be able to detect viable myocardium. However these preliminary data were obtained in patie...

Low-dose dobutamine tissue-tagged magnetic resonance imaging with 3-dimensional strain analysis allows assessment of myocardial viability in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy.

BACKGROUND Tissue-tagged magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with 3-dimensional (3D) myocardial strain analysis allows quantitative assessment of myocardial contractility. We assessed the hypothesis that 3D strain determination at rest and with low-dose dobutamine would discriminate between viable and nonviable myocardium in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM). METHODS AND RESULTS MRI wi...

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance myocardial feature tracking detects quantitative wall motion during dobutamine stress

BACKGROUND Dobutamine stress cardiovascular magnetic resonance (DS-CMR) is an established tool to assess hibernating myocardium and ischemia. Analysis is typically based on visual assessment with considerable operator dependency. CMR myocardial feature tracking (CMR-FT) is a recently introduced technique for tissue voxel motion tracking on standard steady-state free precession (SSFP) images to ...
